About My Life

About Me

Hello my name  is Sierra Mathews. I am 18 years old and my birthday is January 29, 1996. I am currently a freshman at Bowling Green State University. I am studying Inclusive Early Childhood Education there. I love working with kids and I hope some day to be running a Kindergarten classroom of my own in Mentor, Ohio! I have big dreams at such a young age, and one is to be apart of the Disney College Program! Besides teaching, I love to sing, dance, and act! I’ve been acting since I was 6 and have a true passion for it. I would love to be in movies and on TV someday!

A couple months into my freshman year, I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. It has been such a long process, but I should be cancer free in January 2015! I am so excited that I am still able to go to Disney and do my College Program. I am not letting me having cancer stop me from doing my everyday things. I am still finishing up school, hanging out with my friends, and just being a normal teenager!

I am now a senior in college and decided to do the Disney College Program again! This time for the Fall 2017 program. I leave August 4th and I am so excited to start this next chapter in my life!

About my Family

There are five people in my family. I have a mom, dad, one younger brother, and one older sister. My mom and dad are both very supportive with everything I do. They are some of the nicest most caring people I know. My mom, Veda, ALWAYS thinks about others before herself. She is always making sure everything is okay, and if it’s not, she tries to do everything she can to make it okay. I look up to my mom because of this and hope to be able to do the same. My dad, Kevin, is an excellent provider for our family and has made sure we have all had a good childhood. I love that he works hard for us so we can do all the things we’ve had. My sister, Alyssa, is 22 years old. She currently is a Grad Student  at BGSU and will get her masters in May 2018. My brother, Alexander, is a Sophomore at Colgate University. He is their starting running back and loves everything about sports.
